POCKET GOPHER TROUBLE
Jun 24, 2025Pocket Gopher Trouble
My number 1 rodent call received in April is this furry rodent. Unnoticed on most acreage, infestations tend to grow very quickly until they are established. At MLP we have trapping or baiting or a combination of the two to address a problem. Act quickly to get rid of this pest!
This small rodent causes havoc on banks, flowerbeds and yards. Brown spots, mounds (round or crescent shaped) and holes are easy signs that tell you that you have an invasion of Gophers. On-going gopher service is a must to control this pest. Activity on neighboring open space, yards or commercial property are all outside factors that contribute to re-infestation.
Homes with equines or cattle can step into gopher holes and cause injury. You really need a professional to address this rodent. A seasoned technician with the correct product and tooling can give immediate relief to this problem. We have excellent trained technicians to solve this problem.
Five species of gophers call California home; the most common is the pocket gopher. These small rodents spend 99% of their lives underground, living in burrows. Gophers are prolific diggers. To build their burrow systems 6–12 inches underground, they’re able to move up to a ton of dirt a year.
